Investohills (Інвестохіллс, Инвестохиллс) is a group of companies that has been operating in the Ukrainian and international markets for 13 years with investment and asset management operations, the leader of the NPL market in Ukraine. Founded in 2009 as an investment company that specializes in distressed assets and special situations, Investohills has become the largest debt management operator in Ukraine.

To date, the main focus of the group of companies is the acquisition and recovery of non-performing loans and receivables of the corporate segment, as well as investments in companies and assets with a high debt load in order to stabilize their work, including through the business re-conception. As of mid-2021, the group’s asset portfolio exceeded UAH 100 billion.

Investohills unites professionals from the field of law, economics and finance with more than 15 years of experience in the following areas:

  • structuring of complex transactions and IPO launch;
  • development of investment projects in various sectors of the economy;
  • transactions and infrastructure provision in foreign countries;
  • attraction and creation of funds;
  • asset management;
  • development;
  • financial and legal consulting.

The number of specialized specialists in the group’s companies exceeds 400 people.

Investohills lawyers have won more than 5 thousand lawsuits. Currently, more than 10 thousand court cases are in the work of the group at various stages.

In 2011-2014, the group closed a number of transactions to attract international financing and M&A transactions worth more than $1 billion.

In 2012, Investohills made the largest deal in Ukraine to date to acquire a $650 million portfolio of distressed mortgages from French BNP Paribas. The group’s deal to sell Retail insurance company in 2014 was recognized as the deal of the year, according to Forbes Ukraine magazine.

For the last five years, the group of companies has been the largest buyer of non-performing loans of DGF. In particular, in 2018 Investohills closed the first portfolio sale of the DGF portfolio of corporate debts, and in 2019 the group won the tender for the sale of the largest lot in the history of DGF. In 2020, more than 50% of the funds received by DGF from the sale of distressed debts came from the Investohills group of companies. The amount of funds returned thanks to this to the state for the period 2019-2020 exceeded UAH 2 billion.

In 2020, the Investohills Group created the Investohills Helianthus International fund with a planned volume of foreign investments in the Ukrainian distressed debt market in the amount of $100 million. Among the investors are three large specialized investment funds from the USA and the EU. Since April 2021, the foundation has been a member of the European Business Association (EBA).

In 2021, Investohills Helianthus Investment Fund made a deal with Investohills Vesta Financial Company to buy out the company’s portfolio of distressed assets that its Ukrainian investors bought from the Deposit Guarantee Fund in 2018-2020. It is the first large-scale corporate NPL portfolio purchase deal with foreign investors in Ukraine.

The beneficial owners of the Investohills Group of companies are Mykhailo Bakunenko (Chairman of the Board of the largest private oil and gas company in Ukraine – Ukrnaftoburinnia, UNB) and Andriy Volkov (formerly Chairman of the Board of Alfa-Bank Ukraine).

In 2021, the founder of the group of companies Andriy Volkov entered the rating of “25 leaders of financial markets” according to the “TOP 100. Ratings of the largest”.

In 2020 Investohills Vesta FC, which is part of the group of companies, won in the nomination “The Best Legal department of financial company” in the annual study “50 leading legal departments of Ukraine” (Best Legal Departments). In 2021 company won in the nomination “The Best Legal department for dealing with problem debts” in this study.
