Specialists of the State Emergency Management Service Organized a Festival for Children Living in Investohills Shelter in Zaporizhia

On July 8, specialists of the State Emergency Management Service organized a festival for children who had to leave their homes for Investohills Shelter in Zaporizhia due to the war.

The rescue workers prepared a genuine firefighting marathon with focused contests and relay races to let them have a funny and interesting summer day. With professional firefighters and rescuers, the kids had an opportunity to repeat safety rules, learn to act properly in an emergency, and find out something new, for instance, how to notify rescuers of the fire; what emergency services are in charge of various forms of assistance; what to do if you see fire.

Traditionally, everyone had a chance to become a genuine firefighter by trying the equipment on and extinguishing a mock fire.

Children took part in a safety quiz offered by Foxtrot Group of Companies, a social partner, within the scope of the Safety School project.

No holiday should pass without gifts. Thus, Zaporizhia Oblast Organization of Ukraine’s Red Cross Society awarded all firefighting marathon participants sweet prizes.

With their preventive event for IDP children, the rescuers try to distract the kids from adult concerns they are facing due to the war and create a safety island for them to be assured that the Rescue Service is always nearby to rescue, help, and protect.
